Gulf Oil Spill Cap Testing to Begin
With a tight new cap freshly installed on its leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico, BP planned gradual tests starting Tuesday to see if the device can stop oil from pouring into the sea for the first time in nearly three months. (July 13)

Comment made on July 14th, 2010 at 6:16 amAfter the cap shuts the spill, a ten ton steel nested concrete cement structure should prevent any accident of the high pressure burst from the well. Our coast guards should be contracted to build it. If they claim lake expertise, we have to fire a lot of their chiefs to recruit somebody else who have the expertise and commitment to our environmental infrastructures as a high priority national security policy and we have to elect more environment activists to Washington in Nov.

It is unacceptable to allow single point of failure when BP implements solution. If they lack education to this extend, we shouldn’t let them touch anything dangerous to us. They can do anything stupid they like in England, we don’t care; but not here in United States of America.

You can make a giant dome 50ft high 50ft wide, have it anchored into the sea floor 100 ft deep and have the walls of the dome 1 ft thick with steel, and it still wouldn’t hold because you have all that oil rushing up, and more and more keeping rushing out that well, eventually the dome/tent won’t be able to hold it.
